my life + everything in between
Since about two years ago (maybe even three?) I have been receiving monthly, little boxes of joy and fabulousness. Birchbox is a company that sends out monthly boxes of deluxe beauty, grooming, and lifestyle samples (as they describe on their website) and subscribing to them was one of the best choice I’ve made; I use tons of those samples in my everyday routine! They have an online website stocked up with all of the products they use in their boxes. The COOL part (other than the fact that you get all these awesome lil’ treats) is that you can go on the website and do a quick survey review of a product you received to receive Birchbox points. Earn enough birch box points and you can use them towards money off of a product! Pretty awesome, right? Here’s my May box:

and they have men’s boxes too!

btw those last two pictures I got from the website so all credit goes to Birchox!!! [I don’t wanna get in trouble or sued or something :-) ]
To start off spring my school had founder’s day mass (about three weeks ago) outside and I wanted to wear something nice, but not homecoming-fancy. I also wanted to make sure I was comfortable sitting in the outfit and walking around all day. So, I paired this lacey, cream top and silk maxi with my brown flatforms and some jewelry. The soft earthy hues and flared long arms of the shirt also gave it a bit of a 70’s feel and the airy skirt helped me stay cool all day. The shoes are perfect because they give me height and make the outfit more formal, but don’t leave me with blisters and the risk of tripping down the many stairs at Chaminade.
Side note: I planned this outfit that morning before I went to school. :-) It’s never worth it to stress about buying a founder’s day dress.
Two hippie-feel 70’s tops that I am hoping to sport at ‘Chella this year ☮
This top’s got a total 70’s feel with its long flared arms and lacey/crotchet texture and material. The creamy white color is perfect for a hot day out in the Indio sun. I could pair this with a flawy pair of floral pants, some grungy high-wasted shorts, or even a simple maxi skirt.
This silky, light, cropped top is another perfect piece of a music festival. Adorned with delicate lace, it gives off a flirty and flowery ambiance that makes you want to dance! ✿
To give it the finishing touch, I added this turquoise, stone necklace I thrifted from Out Of the Closet a couple of years ago. The aged turquoise really gives the top the “flayva” it needs.

With my insanely hectic schedule, I haven’t been able to get into the various Halloween-themed festivities I have usually indulged in every year. Because, while I am busy studying for dozens of tests at 2 o’ clock in the morning, I used to be watching marathons of the Halloweentown movies and the twilight zone, scaring myself crazy at Halloween Horror Nights with my friend Neiv as a yearly tradition, and painting pumpkins with my mom. So, my inspiration board was the most festive thing it came down to this year. Here are some pictures and pieces of decor that inspired me the month of October…

These are some recently purchased items that I am hoping will become key essentials to my fall wardrobe and great pieces to wear on my East Coast College Tour next week!
I am really excited that plaid is coming into play this season! And since I have always been more prone to buying colorful pieces, I decided that I am going to give black a try this year. I also finally got a pair of cute boyfriend jeans! My next purchase is going to be a black, leather motorcycle jacket!
Boyfriend jeans, classic red plaid shirt w/ gold spikes as the buttons for edge. Baggy black sweater with gold zipper detailing.
I can’t wait to make these black booties my go-to’s! ^^^
