Malibu Beach Day – August 4th, 2014

Today, my friend Neiv and I went to the beach! Zuma beach in Malibu to be precise, basically the beach I always go to. We had a bit of a late start, during which I prepared myself that delicious & nutritious breakfast you see pictured here. It ended up being the absolute perfect beach day;

not a cloud in the bright blue sky and the usual dark blue Malibu waters being a bright aqua with hints of turquoise! We went to tower 13 and the waves were perfect; not too intimidating yet ongoing and long-lasting. We did something I hadn’t done in years: BOOGIE BOARD. It was SO MUCH FUN! Unfortunately we both decided to wear bandeau bathing suit tops and double unfortunately tower 13 seemed to be occupied by any families and young children, whom we may have flashed a good 50 times. But honestly, if guys can go shirtless girls should be able to also so it’s frustrating that we should even have to struggle with that during our recreational activity out in the sun! But yes, we COULD have chosen better bikini tops to wear, and would have if we had known the ocean would be so flirty with us! Afterwards I was treated by a lovely surprise while tanning on my stomach, slowly dazing into a state of relaxation. I felt a splat fall directly on my high leg/buttcheek area and freaked. Earlier I was pretty sure a seagull peed on me, and I wasn’t sure it could get any worse but it did. I thought I’d see a nice white glop of bird poop as I turned my neck down and looked but no, it was a nice brown splattering across my leg and towel, reminiscent of a human barf/throw-up. So yes, it got much worse. I screamed for Neiv to get it off in misery and disgust, almost too paralyzed by the event to do anything about it myself. It was pretty gross.
We left for the Malibu Country Mart where we ate at a small restaurant that was almost Mexican-sushi fusion: I had a spicy tuna roll and beforehand roasted corn with some sort of chipotle mayo sauce on top; pretty good but Neiv the “best food critic you’ll find” as she puts it disapproved of the sushi. She herself got a burrito. Aftwerwards we got some gelato and drove home listening to the songs we grew up on, like Fergie’s “Fergalicious” and Gwen Stefani’s, “Sweet Escape”. Those happen to both be FABULOUS songs.

Maui Babe Browning Lotion is the BEST stuff to get you tan. Pink zinc is always fun and sun-safe.

  1. Fantastic blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers?
    I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
    Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely confused ..
    Any recommendations? Thank you!

    1. thank you so much! yes i absolutely think wordpress is a great option for beginners. I started off with no experience/guidance whatsoever and sort of taught myself the ropes of how everything works. The basics are simple but sometimes the details you aim to add can be difficult to figure out how to do in the beginning. After you figure out how everything works (even I am still learning) it becomes much easier. In addition, if you get very serious you can always pay for the upgrade on wordpress to get cooler themes and more options. if you have any more questions feel free to ask, good luck! :)
